    When fans of classic Westerns think of the film genre, award-winning director John Ford often comes to mind. These days, though, a new name has moved to the forefront in the Western category: Chloe Zhao. This female director from China and her films have taken Hollywood by storm.    What initially encouraged her interest in the American West? Zhao once stated in a magazine interview that she has always had a love of the Old West. But she never really expected to make movies about it because it wasn't something that she knew much about.     起初是什麼開啟趙婷對美國西部的興趣呢?趙婷曾在一次雜誌訪談中表示,自己對於美國的舊西部一直情有獨鍾;但是從沒真正想過拍攝相關電影,因為自己對於舊西部所知不多。
   Zhao's life began in Beijing, far away from the region she frequently features in her stories. Her father was a successful businessman and her stepmother, Song Dandan, was a famous comic actress.
   When Zhao turned 14, she moved to London, England, for school and later to Los Angeles, California, to complete high school. At some point Zhao decided to make a career of telling stories. That was when she decided to move to New York for film school.
    趟婷出生於中國北京,與她故事中經常提及的地區相距十萬八千里。她的父親是一名成功的商人,她的繼母宋丹丹則是著名的喜劇演員。
   趙婷十四歲時,搬到英國倫敦念書,之後又遷往美國加州洛杉磯完成高中學業。然而就在某個時間點,她毅然決定投入這個說故事的行業;也正是在那個時候,她果斷決定搬到紐約就讀電影學院。
