Hugo likes smoothies.
He makes smoothies at home in a blender.
Hugo mixes fruits, vegetables and water together in his blender.
Today Hugo's friend, Melissa, is visiting him at his apartment.
The weather is warm, so Hugo asks Melissa if she wants a smoothie.
She says yes.
Hugo takes out his blender and quickly makes a smoothie for Melissa.
He puts the smoothie in a cup and gives it to her.
Melissa likes the smoothie very much.
She asks to borrow Hugo's blender. He lets her borrow it.

“果汁機風波(上)果喜歡喝水果奶昔,他會在裡用果汁機做果昔。
雨果會用果汁機把水果、蔬菜和水混合在一起。
今天,雨果的朋友梅莉莎到他的公寓來找他。
天氣很暖和,於是雨果問梅莉莎要不要喝果昔。
她說好。
雨果拿出果汁機,立刻為梅莉莎做了一杯果昔。
他把果昔倒進一個杯子裡遞給她。
梅莉莎很喜歡那杯果昔,於是問雨果能不能把果汁機借給她。
他同意了。

A week later, Hugo gets a call from Melissa.

"Hugo," says Melissa. "A thief broke in to my house yesterday!"

"Oh, no!" says Hugo. "Are you OK?"

"I'm fine," says Melissa. "But the thief stole a few things. Your blender was one."

"Don't let that concern you now," says Hugo.

一個星期後,雨果接到梅莉莎打來的電話。

「雨果,」梅莉莎說,「昨天有個竊賊闖進我家!」

「不會吧!」雨果說,「妳還好嗎?」

「我沒事,」梅莉莎說,「可是那個賊偷了一些西,你的果汁機也被偷了。」

「現在先別擔心這件事。」兩果說

After another week, Hugo and Melissa see each other again.
Hugo asks Melissa about the blender.
He asks her to replace it.
Melissa looks surprised.
"Why?" says Melissa.
"Well, you borrowed it," says Hugo.
"If you can't return it, you should replace it."
"Someone stole it," says Melissa.
"That's not my fault." Hugo doesn't agree.
When people borrow something they should return it or replace it.
What should he say to her?

又過了一個星期後,雨果和梅莉莎再次見面
雨果向梅莉莎問起那台果汁機,他要求她賠他一台。
梅莉莎顯得很訝異。
「為什麼?」
梅莉莎問「呃,妳借走了呀,」
雨果說,「如果沒法還,就應該要賠一台新的。」
「果汁機被人偷了,」梅莉莎說,「又不是我的錯。」
雨果不這麼認為。
借了別人的東西就應該要還,不然就是要賠新的。
他該如何對她說?
